PunchKit brings the complete EP workflow together without getting between you and the hardware.
Build 12-pad kits offline. Browse samples, drag them onto pads, edit before upload, then push the whole kit to a project when you plug in.
Separate a take into vocals, drums, bass and other. After an optional model download, processing runs locally on your device.
Perform Color, Motion and Space effects with Direct and XY controls, build a mixed Custom page, then bake the take when the performance hits.
Capture built-in mic or compatible USB inputs as WAV or M4A. Keep original and rendered versions together inside a single take.
Browse projects, groups, pads, assigned sounds and every sample memory slot. Manage device content without leaving the app.
Back up individual banks, single projects, or the complete device. Restore compatible archives whenever you need to roll back.
Browse your sample folders, preview sounds, drag them onto twelve pads, and edit each assignment while inspiration is moving. Connect an EP when you are ready and upload the populated pads to a project and group.
Separate a take into vocals, drums, bass and other. After an optional one-time model download, processing runs locally on your iPhone or iPad — your recording is not uploaded.
Four pages — Color, Motion, Space and Custom. Perform stackable color, tempo-synced motion and long modulated reverbs with Direct and XY controls, capture beat-synced loops on the cassette, then bake the result into a take, pad sample, or library import only when you are ready. Original and rendered versions stay together.
Stackable color, tempo-synced motion and a dedicated Space page — reverb, dub, granulator, tape echo, shimmer, infinite and more.
Play parameters directly, or route one or more effects — including Space — through the XY pad.
Mix any Color, Motion and Space effects into a 12-slot Custom page with a six-effect-wide editor tray.
Capture half- to eight-bar loops from live input using MIDI clock, detected audio or tap tempo, then scratch them at ½×, 1× or 2× tape speed.
Live preview first. Bake later into recordings, pad samples, or imported library sounds.
Original takes stay intact when you bake a processed copy.

PunchKit is a dedicated iPhone and iPad companion for Teenage Engineering EP-133 K.O. II, EP-1320 and EP-40. It covers the full workflow — kit building, sample management, recording, stem separation, live effects and backup — in one app, with no computer, no account and no cloud processing.
EP-133 K.O. II, EP-1320 and EP-40 support in one app. Projects, pads, samples and memory state are read straight from the connected device.
Assemble 12-pad kits from your own audio on iPhone or iPad and send them to the device. No desktop transfer app in the loop.
Split a recording into four stems locally on your iPhone or iPad, then reuse the parts as samples. Nothing is uploaded for processing.
Record USB or device audio, perform stackable tape, vinyl, chip, crush, filter, EQ and dynamics effects live, then bake takes without touching the original.
Snapshot projects and samples, export a recording together with its project as one folder, and restore when a session goes sideways.
No sign-up, no analytics or tracking system. Audio, samples and projects stay on your device and in your own iCloud.
Independent app — not affiliated with or endorsed by Teenage Engineering.
“This is the best companion app for the KO II I've found, by far (at any price). Truly incredible stuff. No latency, super flexible, and super easy to use.”
“On par (or better) than what I would expect an official EP companion app to be, from functionality to design. This opens up so much functionality that I was previously using my laptop for, but in a device that's already in my pocket.”
“The app I've been wishing for since I got my KO II. Manage your samples on the go, record to tape, apply effects, and much more. My favourite feature is the kit builder, makes it so easy to create custom kits from your own samples without having to use a computer.”
“Amazing app with good looking UI. Manage your samples and project without touching your computer. Since the EP devices have so little inboard memory this is a must have tool for always having full access to all your projects and samples on the go.”
“This app changed my music making life. It cut out like 3 steps to my process. Do not hesitate to download.”
“Just get it now. You need this if you have any of the EP boxes.”
Use Apple's Lightning to USB 3 Camera Adapter. Connect a charger to the adapter's Lightning power port, then connect the EP using a USB-A-to-USB-C data cable. The unpowered Lightning to USB Camera Adapter and a regular USB-C-to-Lightning charging cable are not recommended.
Connect directly using a data-capable USB-C cable.
Note — A regular charging cable is not the supported Lightning connection setup.
